Les sculptures monochromes de Wouter Dam semblent être gonflé par l’air qui les traverse. Comme une voile gonflée par le vent, les formes semblent onduler sous la houle, formant ainsi des vagues et des creux. Elles attirent le regard à la fois sur des courbes douces mais aussi sur des bords aiguisés, et nous plongent dans un état méditatif.

« A première vue, mes créations peuvent paraître minimalistes. Mais elles sont néanmoins intrigantes »

L’œuvre un  céramique de Wouter Dam démontre une capacité remarquable de combiner des formes lisses et ondulées avec des couleurs douces et sensuelles. Une parfaite fusion de courbes qui forme une sculpture compacte et intense aussi bien à l’intérieur qu’à l’extérieur.

Le travail semble jaillir de plusieurs sources et laisse apparaître une architecture simple et élégante :

« Je flirte avec des formes anthropomorphiques classiques et j’effleure la nature en m’inspirant des structures de végétaux. »

Ces créations ne révèlent qu’un vague soupçon de ses sources d’inspiration, afin de laisser courir librement l’imagination de chacun.
