Statement
Marie T Hermann, sculpteur et céramiste danoise, vit et travaille au États Unis.
Issue d’une famille d’architectes, très jeune elle s’exerce à reconstruire son environnement. Après quatre années passées auprès de l’artiste Edmund de Waal comme studio manager, son vocabulaire et son travail artistique s’affirme. Ses installations représentent des natures mortes inspirées du quotidien. Avec élégance son regard se pose sur ce qui nous est familier pour le magnifier avec une extrême sensibilité. Elle crée des formes pures qu’elle met en scène avec subtilité dans un colorama presque monochrome pour isoler l’objet de son contexte et le sublimer en œuvre d’art. À travers ce travail conceptuel Marie T Hermann exploite le rituel et l’accoutumance de l’objet et redéfinit sa place et son rôle en le repositionnant avec limpidité dans le monde qui nous entoure.
